In October of 1849, Edgar Allan Poe set out on a trip from Virginia to New York. Five days later he was found unconscious on a street in Baltimore wearing a strangers clothing. He was taken to a hospital and died after three days of wild delusions. This POE PROJECT is a original theater work will investigate Edgar Allan Poes controversial final days of delirium spent in trains, hotels, and taverns in Richmond, VA, Baltimore, Philadelphia and New York. Featuring aerial movement, a Poe House Park Service Ranger, a live musical score with bowed and prepared piano, sung Poe letters, historical accounts, with transformative set design and opera.
